This morning its direction Pallata, located above the town of Ollantaytambo . Here we will meet up with our Peruvian horses (*) to journey through typical Andean villages with magnificent views of Andean snow peaks before arriving at the Inca site of Pumumarca; a magnificent place located high above the valley, consists of dozens of ceremonial and civil buildings all surrounded by an impressive wall. Set on fire during the rebellion of Manco Inca 1536, the wall clay plaster has been made onto ceramics allowing us to get a glimpse into how buildings looked like in Inca times. You’ll continue along a water channel, to the terraces of Conchapata for a wonderful picnic lunch. After lunch we continue back to Ollantaytambo and then on via vehicle to our hotel.
*While the Paso horses are easy to ride, some basic horseback riding experience is recommended.
