World Heritage Site

Manu National Park is one of the most biodiverse areas on the planet. It is located in the departments of Cusco (province of Paucartambo, district Kosñipata) and Madre de Dios (province of Manu and Manu Fitzcarrald districts), covering the entire Manu River basin. Located south of Peru, in the eastern sector of the Andes and western edge of the Amazon basin is the only park in Latin America that includes the full range of environments from tropical lowlands to the highlands frigid, above 4,000 m.

DAY 1: CUSCO - COCK OF THE ROCKS - BAMBOO LODGE
Temparno We start at 5:30 am. in a 10 hour trip from Cusco ascending to the highest point with a height of 4000 m.s.n.m. On the way we make stops along the way such as in Ninamarca Chullpas, Pre-Inca cemetery. Then we descend to the valleys inter Andean town of Paucartambo to place rich in history known as the Folkloric Capital of Peru at 2900 meters. Then easily reach this beautiful town we headed Acjanaco to 3560 meters this is the point of entry into the area of ​​Manu (UNESCO) National Park from this place precedemos to descend to the Cloud Forest where we will make some walks to observe an endless number of Orquideas birds like quetzals, toucans and tanagers Multicolores. In San Pedro strategic to observe the National bird of Peru "Cock of the Rock" for which visit the LEK where these colorful birds perform a ritual mating with graceful jumps and edges site. With any luck appreciate the first species of mammals like monkeys and the spectacled bear. We continue the journey to our hostel "Bambu Lodge".

DAY 2: BAMBOO LODGE TO SOGA DE ORO LODGE

Early morning after a delicious breakfast we continue the trip with our bus to the town of Atalaya during the tour observe flora and fauna in Atalaya we board our motizado boat and sail on the Rio Alto Madre de Dios for approximately 30 minutes to hostel "Soga de Oro Lodge". In our hostel we make walks in a circuit of trails in search of animals such as monkeys, birds and peccaries.
After lunch we visit a small oxbow lake called "Machuwasi" exploraemos the Cocha rafts typical of the Amazon rainforest and the trails ( roads) around the oxbow; where we can observe the prehistoric bird called Shansho or Hoatzin, capybara and if we see no possibility alligator. The night will be spent at the lodge. Optional night walk (to see arachnids, insects, frogs, snakes, etc).

DAY 3: SOGA DE ORO LODGE - MACAW CLAY LICK
We left very early in the morning we embark on a 40 minute boat ride to the Collpa of parrots (clay wall), where these birds are grouped together to eat the minerals in the clay to detoxify. Here we can appreciate the actidad of parrots and Guacamatos to 6 species utizando our binoculars and telescopes.
After breakfast, explorarmos new trails in search of monkeys and birds and visit the giant ceiba tree known as during the exploration of the trails (paths) the guide explains about ethnobotany (medicinal plants). After lunch we can go fishing or take a dip in the river. Optional night walk (to see insects, frogs, snakes, etc.)
Overnight at Soga de Oro Lodge.

DAY 4: SOGA DE ORO LODGE TO CUSCO
After breakfast at our lodge boarded the boat back to Atalaya, where our bus is waiting. For flora lovers can visit the local botanical garden which is home to approximately 200 species of orchids, we continue the way back to Cusco with stops in the cloud forest in case of finding animals or birds not seen in the first day . We arrived around 5 pm, transfer to hotel.
Does not include entrance to the Jardin Botanico.
