Colcalmayo - Machupicchu
7:00 a.m. We departure from the hotel towards to the "Sacred Valley" of the Incas (Urubamba) and reach the village of Ollantaytambo where we will make a short stop to use the services.
Then we begin our ascent for about an hour and half to the highest point of the journey, The Malaga pass (4,330 meters over the sea).
On the way we will enjoy the breathtaking Andean landscape with the option to make some stops to take pictures. After greeting the imposing snow peak La Veronica (5682 m) we start the descent towards to the lower forest, where we can appreciate picturesque landscapes and natural attractions as we go through the altitude levels. We pass near some ravines, ghost towns, orchards and picturesque streams. After about 2 hours of descent we arrive to the village of Monte Roso or Huamanmarca where we will enjoy our picnic lunch.
About 01:30 pm. we continue our journey to the picturesque village of Santa Maria, the start point of the dirt road to the town of Santa Teresa. About 30 minutes before arriving to the village of Santa Teresa we have the option of walking down to the Thermal baths of Cocalmayo amid the diverse flora, fauna and fruit plantations, considering that we are already in the jungle´s eyebrow of the Peruvian Amazon. The main feature of these hot springs is given by a unique landscape crystallinity and special location in the middle of the jungle, makes this place a paradise nestled in the Cusco´s jungle, taking advantage of the blossoming of hot springs in the foothills and along the Urubamba River.

After breakfast, our private car will take us to the town of Hidroelectrica, the starting point for our trek to the village of Aguas Calientes, enjoying the splendid waterfalls from the glaciers, coca and coffee plantations of the local’s people, through the train route to get to Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu Pueblo.
At the halfway we will enjoy our lunch at the botanical garden of Mandor Pampa where we will have the opportunity to visit it and its waterfalls. Upon arrival to Aguas Calientes we enjoy the comforts of our tourist hotel.

In the afternoon we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo station, where our private car will be waiting for us to drive back to our hotel in Cusco or in the Sacred Valley.
